In Kids vs Zombies you play as a group of three kids who are the last hope for humanity against the invading zombie horde. Marcus has a machine gun, Scarlett has a slingshot, and Dexter has a cherry bomb launcher. Using these weapons and the defense of their trusty fort, the kids must survive the night, kill all the zombies, and make sure that their fort remains intact.

I really wanted to like this game. The premise is great. It has characters that can be developed. It gorgeous graphics. It practically oozes style. The problem comes when the level ends and you find out that no matter how well you did, no matter how much teamwork you employed, no matter what your accuracy rate is, all you get is ten dollars with which to try and upgrade your weapons and fort. There is no sense of reward for doing well. A combo system or accuracy based reward would encourage you to try and play the game differently.
When you upgrade your weapons there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference. When upgrading Scarlett's slingshot for instance, you go from "Holy Golf Ball Level 1" to "Holy Golf Ball Level 2". There is no visual difference, and it seems to take the same number of hits to take out an enemy. Even switching from a grey ball (rock) to white ball (golf ball) to a red ball (fireball) would feel like a payoff, and would require little programming.
Kids vs. Zombies has the potential to be a great game. Perhaps future updates can build on the solid foundation that this game has. For now, though, it is an average game with above average graphics. I will give Kids vs Zombies a 6 out of 10.
