There seemed to be a theme going on with the newer apps released this week. A larger than usual number of them were alcohol related. Maybe it's because summer party season is here, maybe it's that a bunch of app developers just arrived home from the same party. I don't know, but here is a sampling of the alcohol apps arriving on your iPhone/iPod touch.

iShot Machine Lite
 | iShot Machine Lite is a slot machine for shots. You don't actually win shots from it, but what it will do is to provide you with a random shot when you shake your device or press the "Shake It" button. iShot Machine Lite is supposed to allow you to filter your shots by requiring and excluding ingredients. It is also supposed to allow you to search for shots. I couldn't get these features to work even after checking my internet connection several times. Maybe these features are reserved for the full version. |

5800+ Drink and Cocktail Recipes Free
No pics for this one.(I could have, but we have all seen a recipe before, right?) This app is exactly what it says it is: a list of over 5800 drink recipes. If you know of a drink not on this list then you either just made it up, or you need to get yourself to a meeting.

 | Drink! is the russion roulette of drinking games. Pass your device around the party. Players will shake the device and Drink! will tell them if they have to drink or not. Very simple game, just simple enough to keep playing after many Drinks! |
Done Drinking
In Done Drinking, players will try to keep their little drunk buddy upright by either tilting their device or by pressing the onscreen arrows. The further you make it, the more he drinks and the harder the game gets.

iTapper Lite
iTapper is a pretty faithful reproduction of the 80's classic Tapper. (This game evolved slightly in the eighties. Although there was no mention of exactly what was in the mugs being passed down the bar, the name was changed to Root Beer Tapper just to avoid the wrath of Tipper Gore.) You play as the bartender. The object of the game is simple enough: get enough beer into your thirsty patrons to get them out the door. Do not allow a patron to reach the end of the bar or allow their beer mugs to hit the floor. iTapper is a fun game that takes me back to the Golden Age of video games.
